Please Vote YES and YES! (February 2, 2025)

Good Sunday Morning!

And happy Groundhog day..  I write from Guelph where local Greens are in the midst of two election campaigns at once.  Ford did call the snap election claiming he needed a strong mandate to take on Trump  — as though a majority provincial government was not enough. The question hangs over Ontario voters; if Ontario needs Ford to protect it from Trump, who protects Ontario from Ford? Continue reading Please Vote YES and YES! (February 2, 2025)

International Cooperation From The Grassroots Up (January 19, 2024)

And a very Good Sunday Morning!

Monday’s events will cast a pall as Donald J Trump takes the oath of office. I wonder how many will note the deep irony that the polar vortex climate event has forced the inauguration indoors. Trump’s Canada Bashing (January 5, 2025)

Good Sunday Morning!

Happy New Year and we can still say Happy Christmas, today being the eleventh day! Despite the adjournment of Parliament, the political news keeps coming. Dominic Leblanc and Melanie Joly were off on another pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago, Pierre Poilievre announced another scheme to bring down the government, and it seems no one but Justin Trudeau has gone on a Christmas break. Continue reading Prime Ministers Have Too Much Power (December 29, 2024)

The Long-Delayed Fall Economic Statement (December 22, 2024)

Good Sunday Morning!

Oh my! What a week! Monday started with a predawn taxi ride to Union Station in Toronto to get the 6:30 VIA train to Ottawa. The day was laid out not just according to my personal schedule, but through a carefully hammered out parliamentary unanimous consent motion. Every detail of my day was pretty much set in stone—until it wasn’t. Continue reading The Long-Delayed Fall Economic Statement (December 22, 2024)

Agreement Between BC Greens And The NDP (December 15, 2024)

Good Sunday Morning!  Yes, ten days until Christmas! Hoping you are not racing through crowded malls for pointless stuff no one needs but instead connecting with loved ones with homemade gifts and something delicious in the oven.Tuesday I will be serving a Christmas meal at one of the most amazing outreach shelters I know, Our Place in Victoria.
