It is difficult to believe the range of events we have experienced in one month. We went from another hopeful COP meeting trying to wrangle the world’s carbon commitments to realistic targets, right into severe rainfall events in Canada, especially in BC and the East Coast. 2021 AGM — on January 22
To all present and prospective members of the Saanich-Gulf Islands EDA,
I am pleased to announce that the 2021 AGM is coming … in 2022.
To say the year of 2021 has been difficult is an understatement. I do not need to remind you of the litany of problems that arose this year. Suffice to say that our AGM was scheduled, and postponed, twice.
We have now scheduled our upcoming AGM to be held on January 22 at 2 pm and it will be a virtual session. Please mark this date on your calendar and come and join your executive and fellow members for our event. The AGM is our opportunity to deal with the business of our EDA but also to renew friendships within the membership. Invite a friend to join you for this occasion and to meet our group. It violated the normal negotiations of the multilateral process. I have been to 12 COPs and never seen anything like it. Continue reading Post-COP 26 Debrief (November 21, 2021)

The weirdest COP ever (November 7, 2021)
Good Sunday Morning!
And greetings from Glasgow – which may be home of the kindest and friendliest people on the planet – and COP26 which is certainly the weirdest COP ever. COP26 may also be the start of the big shift – or where we miss our last, best hope. Continue reading The weirdest COP ever (November 7, 2021)
